The RAVE-D from Pepperl & Fuchs is a radar sensor that has been specially developed for use in harsh industrial environments. With an IP67 protection rating, the sensor is ideal for use as a premium door opener up to an installation height of 7 m. Thanks to the differentiated detection of people and vehicles, doors can be opened in a targeted manner, optimising transport routes and saving energy. The detection range is max. 9 m x 6.5 m (depending on the installation height) and it can be mounted on both the wall and the ceiling. In addition, the sensor can be easily configured using integrated buttons or an optional remote control.
The main functions of the RAVE-D are:
- Differentiated detection of people and vehicles: a targeted opening is controlled by one output relay each.
- Cross-traffic suppression and direction detection: the door only opens when objects are moving towards it, while passers-by are ignored.
- Flexible settings: various operating modes, such as direction detection, cross-traffic suppression, vehicle detection and relay hold time, can be set using push buttons or a remote control.
The RAVE-D uses a microwave module and the same principle as Doppler radar to reliably detect moving people and larger objects. Its robust design and high detection accuracy make it ideal for industrial automatic doors.
